Valérie Parizeault

Valérie Parizeault is an illustrator and author based in the Acadian coastal town of Shédiac, New Brunswick. Originally from Montréal, she specialises in picture book illustration and has worked on various editorial projects for children's magazines. Valérie draws her inspiration from her coastal surroundings and her daily walks with her beloved muse: her dog, Java. Her illustrations move between tenderness and a playful staging of the irreverence that is so particular to childhood.
