Léa Decan

Léa Decan is a French Chinese author and illustrator. Born in Dunkirk, she spent her childhood in northern France, Haute-Savoie and Beijing, China. After studying illustration at ESA Saint-Luc in Brussels, she settled in Paris, where she now lives and works. She mainly creates picture books for children, but she is also exploring graphic novels for adults and illustrating for the press. Léa regularly does readings and workshops at schools and other cultural institutions. She likes to weave patterns, playfulness and, above all, gentleness into her images. Most of her illustrations are created with gouache, but she also explores linocut, digital art and Chinese paper cutting.
